The INCAS Environment Program aims to improve the current level of understanding of atmospheric phenomena with a major impact on the environment and human health.
The INCAS Environment Program aims to improve the current level of understanding of atmospheric phenomena with a major impact on the environment and human health by ensuring and developing advanced technological research capabilities that provide qualitative and high-accuracy information needed to systematically address the main scientific and technical challenges in the field of atmospheric sciences.
The program supports an interdisciplinary approach to the main scientific questions in order to ensure the dissemination of the results obtained both to the scientific community and especially to the decision makers at national / European level, thus supporting and strengthening the collaboration with national authorities with responsibilities in environmental protection.
Through this program, the following are supported:
a. advanced atmospheric research by monitoring and evaluating environmental conditions (complex studies to monitor certain atmospheric parameters / constituents);
b. monitoring the surface topography – topographic scanning using airborne platforms and instrumentation;
c. development of specific processing capabilities useful in the analysis of experimental data;
d. intelligent specialization of human resources.
The environmental program encourages the transfer of knowledge while also providing consultancy services for the instrumental configuration of the aerial platforms as well as for the development and execution of atmospheric research campaigns / missions.
